What is the difference between an AI receptionist and an AI phone agent?
Nothing that matters to a caller: both are software that answers the phone, understands what the person wants, and takes the next step. "AI phone agent" is the newer term; "AI receptionist" is the one most owners search for. Ours answers calls and texts from the same system, so we use the two words interchangeably.
How much does a custom AI receptionist cost?
The price depends on how many lines it answers, what it connects to, and how complex your routing is. We quote a fixed price after the free first call, so you see the number before anything is built. If a $50-a-month app would genuinely do the job for you, we say so on the call.
Will it work with the phone number and system I already have?
Yes. You keep your number and your phone system; the agent sits in front of or alongside what you run today. Nothing gets ripped out and your team learns no new software.
What happens when it doesn't understand a caller?
It hands the call to a person instead of guessing. We write explicit rules for what the agent may decide alone and what it must escalate, and anything outside those rules rings a human immediately.
Can callers tell they're talking to AI?
